How long has Guatemalan Adventure been operating and how did it start?
GA is a Guatemalan Tour Operator and DMC founded in 2005, it started when its founders saw the opportunity to show our clients the unique treasures of Guatemala, one of the best kept secret destinations in the world. And that we could promote it so Guatemala could be known as a world-class destination.
We are a young independent team of Guatemalan Travel specialists who love their country and strive to offer the best of Guatemala.

What does your company specialize in?
Our company specializes in providing private and tailor made exclusive tours in Guatemala and some destinations in Belize and Honduras.
Who are the founders of the company?
Pablo Porres (Director and Founder): he is an Industrial Engineer who has a great knowledge in the industry of tourism. He graduated from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala in 2007. He is particularly skilled in negotiation, marketing and is very customer service focused. Nowadays, he runs the Operation, Sales and Marketing departments in the company.
Jose Porres (Founder): has a degree in Business Administration graduated from Universidad Francisco Marroquin and is a marketing specialist who created the “Guatemalan Adventure” concept.
Jose Hernandez (Founder): an adventurous person who dedicated himself for 5 years to explore the most beautiful and interesting places in Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador and Honduras, has been the creator and designer of our travel programs.
Certifications that Guatemalan Adventure account?
Guatemalan Adventure Tour Operator is a member of INGUAT since 2005, the Guatemalan Chamber of Tourism which regulates the tourism in Guatemala. The registration number is 813-2005.
VISA
Do I need visa to visit Guatemala?

Citizens of the US, Canada, EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Israel and Japan are among those who do not need visas for tourist visits to Guatemala. On entry into Guatemala you will normally be given a 90-day stay. (The number 90 will be written in the stamp in your passport.
Citizens of some Eastern European countries are among those who do need visas to visit Guatemala. Inquire at a Guatemalan embassy well in advance of travel.
CURRENCY
What currency is used in Guatemala?
The Guatemalan Currency “QUETZAL” are issued in 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 denominations. The official exchange rate is around US$1 – Q.8.00 or 1€ – Q.11.00.
You’ll find ATMs for Visa/Plus System cards in all but the smallest towns, and there are MasterCard/Cirrus ATMs in many places too, so one of these cards is the best basis for your supplies of cash in Guatemala. In addition, many banks give cash advances on Visa cards, and some on MasterCard. And you can pay for many purchases with these cards or with American Express (Amex).
Weather
Guatemala has two seasons during the entire year, the wet and dry season. The driest season is from November to April; however the other one runs from May to October. Generally, during the wet season, it only rains for a couple of hours a day. Additionally, the temperature during a normal day in Guatemala is between 20-24 C °
